Community Heroes

Do you know anyone making a difference within the community of North Kesteven through their kind consideration and voluntary endeavour?

And have you always thought ‘they deserve a medal’ for what they do?

The next best thing is an NK Community Champion Award, backed by community-minded businesses within the District and co-ordinated by North Kesteven District Council.

We are once again proud to sponsoring the "Contribution to Arts and Culture Award", one of twelve awards available this year:

  • Contribution to Climate Action
  • Coronavirus Response
  • Community spirit
  • Young Achiever
  • Community Businesses
  • Contribution to; arts & culture; sport; community safety; a better environment; health & wellbeing
  • Good neighbour
  • Longstanding contributions to a group

There’s a category to capture all sorts of voluntary action undertaken tirelessly, quietly and selflessly for the benefit of people and communities within North Kesteven.

It could be by helping neighbours to shield through the pandemic, befriending, contributing to a sports or art club, picking litter, maintaining paths, supporting those in need, contributing freely in a myriad ways, or changing lifestyles and business practice to reduce climate impacts.

There’s so much amazing activity being undertaken daily that we want to acknowledge, celebrate and champion.

North Kesteven has a vibrant and diverse creative community; a strong network of artists, makers and community craft groups, all supporting and promoting the development of amazing creative achievements. We are delighted to be able to recognise this talent and celebrate the impact that creativity has on the local community and wider economy through our sponsorship of the NKDC Community Champions Awards.
