For the first time since before the pandemic, Lincs Inspire’s weekly Inclusive Multi-Sport sessions return to Grimsby Health Wellbeing Centre.
A free session on Wednesday, June 1, celebrates the return of these action-packed mornings of sport, catering for all levels of ability and inspiring people with a disability to enjoy physical activity.
The sessions are run by Lincs Inspire’s wellbeing team and sports development coaches, and they are joined by the adult learning disability therapy team from Care Plus Group.
We’ve been running this programme for many years, so we’re excited to see its return.
“The session is about encouraging everyone to come and try out a number of sports where there’s plenty of support from our teams. It’s about celebrating sports and not letting someone’s disability hold them back.Ben Frary Sports and Health Improvement Manager
Activities include adapted bikes, dance, gym, assisted exercise in the Wellness Hub, multi-sports and arts and crafts.
There’s no need to book, just turn up and try as many activities as you can. If a customer needs one-to-one assistance, then a carer must be present with them.
The session takes place from 9:30am to 11:30am at the Health and Wellbeing Centre – Grimsby Leisure Centre’s original building.
The re-launch session is free, with subsequent weekly sessions costing £5 per person. Carers are free when supervising.
