The Inspire Garden

Cleethorpes Library now has a welcoming and accessible space for the community to use named The Inspire Garden.

Thanks to funding from the People's Postcode Lottery, in 2018 the garden was transformed to include new landscaping and planting, sensory play equipment for children and a storytelling area. The therapeutic space will be used for all age groups and for many purposes, including education, recreation, sensory and relaxation.

In the warmer summer months, many regular activities and groups that ordinarily take place within the library will now be able to use the new space.

Ongoing maintenance of the garden will be provided by Navigo and Grimsby Garden Centre, both of which support people with mental health issues back into employment by giving them work experience.

After

We're all excited about the garden and its long-term benefits. Reminiscence sessions for older people and storytelling groups for children now have a useable space outside. There will also be opportunities to use the space for planting and healthy eating type projects.
