Lincs Inspire Libraries are proud to support national reading initiatives led by the likes of the Reading Agency and Book Trust. These link with our broader work around encouraging reading activities for children from an early age and inspiring creativity and imagination.
Summer Reading Challenge
The Summer Reading Challenge is an annual event aimed at those aged 4 to 11 years old.
Children are encouraged to read six (or more) books of their choice during the summer holidays with collectable incentives and rewards, plus a certificate for every child who completes the challenge.
The Challenge is led by the Reading Agency and delivered by public libraries nationwide.
In partnership with the Science Museum Group, the theme for 2022 is Science and Innovation.
This year introduces the ‘Gadgeteers’, six fictional characters inspiring wonder behind a whole range of interests, from fashion and technology to cooking and music.
Families can register in person at any of our Lincs Inspire Library branches until 17th September.
There is also a celebration event for completers after the summer holidays, details will follow soon.
