Fibromyalgia Awareness

Inspire Blog |

Tracy suffers from Fibromyalgia and she's an undisputed fighter.

Tracy’s GP referred her to Lincs Inspire’s Active Forever programme to use the Wellness Hub at Grimsby Health & Wellbeing Centre. The power-assisted exercise equipment within the Hub offers a gentle form of exercise that helps Tracy manage her symptoms.

Since attending Tracy’s mobility has improved and her confidence has grown. The low-impact nature of the Shapemaster power-assisted equipment means the workout is gentle but also incredibly effective.

Today, on National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, we share Tracy’s story. National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day is all about raising awareness for this disease and supporting further research into eventually finding a cure.

Thank you for sharing your story, Tracy, and inspiring others.

National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day – more information

May 12th has been chosen as National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day as it’s the birthday of nurse Florence Nightingale. Florence suffered from a debilitating illness resembling ME or fibromyalgia.

In honour of her achievements, even though she struggled with fatigue, the day has been designated an international awareness day for these conditions and other chronic immunological and neurological diseases.
