Issued: 14.03.19

Following the success of last month's FIT TO PARTY 5 event at Grimsby Auditorium, in which over 200 people took part in the 80s themed group fitness classes (Bodycombat, Zumba and Clubbercise), today sees the cheque for half of the proceeds officially presented to Care Plus Group Charitable Trust. Of an impressive £759 raised, £380 has been donated to the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust to go towards improving the health and wellbeing of individuals and groups in the community.

Neil Cartwright, Trustee of the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust said: “We’d like to thank Lincs Inspire for sharing the proceeds of this event with the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust. The Charitable Trust was set up to provide additional support and resources to improve the lives of people and communities living in North East Lincolnshire, extending the work of Care Plus Group.  Proceeds will go directly back into local projects that work towards improving the health and wellbeing of individuals and groups in our community.”

The other half of the proceeds will go towards Lincs Inspire's pilot of a 'Chorus and a Cuppa' project, which will provide the opportunity for anyone to sing in a relaxed environment and enjoy a cup of tea, with a primary focus on improving wellbeing through communal singing. The project will start on Monday 8th April, 11:15am-12:15pm at Cleethorpes Library and will take place weekly.  More information about 'Chorus and a Cuppa' will be published shortly, if you require any further information, contact Caroline on (01472) 323435.
