Through some of our members' journeys, we support Sport England's national campaign We Are Undefeatable, inspiring and supporting people with long-term health conditions to build physical activity into their lives .

Eighteen years with the toning suite and counting...

Grimsby lady Judith Glover is the toning suite’s longest serving member and has been exercising there since 2002, when it was originally based at Immingham Swimming Pool. Proud of her longstanding commitment to fitness and the role she has played in the evolution of the suite over the years, she met with us to share her story.

Leanne and Jodie are both taking part in the Gym Shark 66 Challenge, a 66 day event that challenges those taking part to make a pledge that will change their life in some way. The challenge aims to inspire people to take steps towards healthier habits.

Toning suite is like being 'part of a family'

Having recently completed the Active Forever programme, Christina has seen great improvements in her mobility, fitness and pain management that have been affected as a result of a spinal condition called Scoliosis. She's made lots of new friends through the toning suite and describes it as like being 'part of a family'.

Senior Circuits - keeping active physically and socially

Rod has attending Senior Circuits at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre since having a heart attack in 2003. It's keeping him active, helping to control his weight, cholesterol levels, blood pressure and sugar intake! He's also made a great bunch of friends who support and help one another.

Member finding her spark again with weekly circuits

Rosy has been exercising at our weekly low impact circuits classes and using our toning suite at Grimsby Leisure Centre for just over a year. She joined the Active Forever programme in November 2018 following surgery after experiencing weakness, chest pains, shortness of breath and loss of energy. Since joining she has made significant improvements to her health, fitness and wellbeing and now exercises three to four times a week.

Living with dementia - improving memory, mood and wellbeing

John has been attending our seated chair exercise class at Grimsby Leisure Centre with his daughter Barbara for just over a year. The class is helping improve his symptoms of dementia and those closest to him have noticed significant improvements in his memory, mood and wellbeing since he started.
