Group Fitness Class at Grimsby Auditorium is the most popular yet!
Lincs Inspire’s FIT TO PARTY 5 charity event at Grimsby Auditorium has proven to be the most successful to date with over 200 people attending the group fitness class, raising a total of £759 for charity.
The 80s themed event that took place on Monday evening began with the high energy Bodycombat class led by Matt Beasley, as group exercisers were able to get fighting fit through punching, kicking and striking along to the music with this calorie burning workout.
This was followed by a gigantic Zumba class led by Lesley Webb, which included a fun and spicy hip swirling workout with music and moves from Latin America, Africa and the Caribbean.
An evening of fun and fitness was rounded off with Clubbercise led by Zoe Webb, as dance lovers were able to work out to routines from club anthems of the 80s with their glow sticks at the ready!
Gavin Johnstone, Fitness Development Manager, Lincs Inspire said: “Thank you to all who took part. I’m sure everyone who made it down will agree this was by far our best FIT TO PARTY to date. The participants all embraced the 80s vibe and the Auditorium was filled with fluorescent costumes, tutus, headbands and glow sticks! We have now set the bar, this one will be difficult to beat!”
The £759 that was raised will now be shared equally between the charitable causes of the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust and Lincs Inspire.
Rachel McWilliam, Arts Development Officer, Lincs Inspire said: “The proceeds we receive from Fit to Party will go towards piloting a ‘Cuppa & A Chorus’ project locally, following its success with the National Centre for Early Music in York. As the name suggests, the project will provide the opportunity for anyone to sing in a relaxed environment and enjoy a cup of tea, with a primary focus on improving wellbeing through communal singing”
Neil Cartwright, Trustee of the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust said: “We’d like to thank Lincs Inspire for sharing the proceeds of this event with the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust. The Charitable Trust was set up to provide additional support and resources to improve the lives of people and communities living in North East Lincolnshire, extending the work of Care Plus Group. Proceeds will go directly back into local projects that work towards improving the health and wellbeing of individuals and groups in our community.”
Fit to Party 6 will return in October for a Halloween themed event!
