Spoken Word Workshops and Evenings Set for Waltham

Local writers, poets and book lovers will have the chance to give readings of their own work and from their favourite literature at Lincs Inspire’s new Open Mic - Spoken Word Evenings at Waltham Library; thanks to grant funding obtained from the Society of Chief Librarians.

The First Word Open Mic – Spoken Word Evenings will run on the first Saturdays of the month from October 2018 to March 2019 starting at 7:30pm in a relaxed, café style setting.

There will also be two workshops for people wishing to take part in one of the Spoken Word events but who feel they would be more confident if they attend a workshop about how to do this first. Or to help those who have completed a piece of creative writing that they would like to read in public, but feel that they need some support to get their writing up to scratch. These will be held at Waltham Library on Friday 21st September at 2pm and Thursday 27th September at 7.30pm.

Workshops are free, but places are limited and allocated on a first come/first served basis. If you wish to take part in one of the workshops, please contact  Waltham Library on (01472) 323656 or email: waltham.library@lincsinspire.com.

If you wish to deliver a public reading at one or more of the Spoken Word Evenings event please email: dave.power@lincsinspire.com. All we ask is that you don’t include any offensive material. Audience tickets for the Spoken Word evening events cost £3.50 per person and are available from Waltham Library.
