Su Blackwell Talk and Workshop

There are still a limited amount of tickets available for a talk and workshop by renowned artist Su Blackwell in The Albert Room at Cleethorpes Library on Saturday 29th September 2018.

Su Blackwell is known for turning pages of second hand books into fantastical paper sculptures. She has exhibited her exquisite sculptures around the world.

From 12 noon to 12.45pm Su will be giving an Illustrated Talk where she will discuss her work and processes. The talk costs £5 and booking is advisable as places are limited.

She will be delivering a workshop from 2.30pm to 5.30pm, where she will lead you through this magical workshop, transforming a page of an unwanted book into a three-dimensional paper-cut rose, using a template, which Su has designed. Your finished design will make a wonderful gift for a friend, or for yourself. The workshop costs £30 per person which includes the illustrated talk before hand and materials. Booking is essential as places are limited.

Su has designed art fabric for Liberty London, and the set for The Rose Theatre’s production of ‘The Snow Queen’. In December 2017 she exhibited a Dickens’ inspired installation at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire and is preparing for a solo show in London in Autumn 2018. Her illustrated book of fairy tales ‘The Fairytale Princess’, written by Wendy Jones, was published by Thames & Hudson and first released in 2012.
