Calling all artists…
Local artists are invited to showcase their work to the public in the area’s second Open Arts Exhibition, due to be held during December in the Albert Room at Cleethorpes Library.
Following the success of last year’s exhibition, Lincs Inspire Arts and Library Services have once again joined forces to give artists the opportunity to exhibit and offer their work for sale to the general public.
The deadline to enter work is Monday, November 19, and artists are eligible to enter up to two prices of art. Artists must read the full terms and conditions, but 2D works of art are accepted, in any medium, up to one metre by one metre in size.
Dave Power, Lincs Inspire’s principal arts officer, said: “We were very happy with not only the quality of work submitted last year, but also the interest from members of the public who thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to view the talent we have in the local area.
“Therefore we’re back for a second year, inviting all artists to submit their work to the competition, with the exhibition taking place during December and into the New Year.
“We will be seeking the guidance and expertise of local artists to judge the competition and select the winners, with the winner receiving a £50 cash prize and the runner-up £25.
“We will be inviting all the visitors to the exhibition to also vote for their favourite; it’s always interesting to reveal the public choice.”
Artists who wish to enter should either email email@example.com for a copy of the Entry Form with full Terms and Conditions or telephone David Power on (01472) 323350. Alternatively, the entry form can be downloaded here.
To enter the Open Exhibition, either email photographs of your work and a completed entry form by Friday, November 19, to David Power or post photographs of your work along with a completed entry form to: David Power, Bradley Football Development Centre, Bradley Road, Grimsby, NE Lincolnshire, DN37 0AG.
It costs £5 per entry and this money should be paid at Cleethorpes Library front desk by cash or cheque. Entrants will be informed by Friday, November 23, as to whether their work has been accepted. The selected artwork will be for sale – unless the artist in question does not want to sell their work – so there will be opportunities for the public to obtain excellent original artworks.
