Lincs Inspire lifeguard and swimming teacher, Bev Barrett has raised £1,124 after completing her two-mile Swimathon challenge in April, 2018 in an amazing time of 1 hour, 14 minutes and 52 seconds!
Inspired by a regular Grimsby Leisure Centre customer and friend who is going through treatment for cancer, Bev decided to embark upon her greatest swimming challenge to date to raise money for Cancer Research and Marie Curie.
Speaking after her swimming achievement, Bev said: “I’ve been overwhelmed with the support received from family, friends, customers and colleagues. Thank you to everyone for getting behind me and for their donations.
“Initially I said I’d be happy to raise £50, but with everyone’s support, I have far exceeded my expectations. These causes touch everyone’s hearts and I have been thrilled to be able to do it.”
