Inclusive Sports Taster Day

AN Inclusive Sports Taster Day is being held on Wednesday 25th April at Grimsby Leisure Centre (Health & Wellbeing Centre) as part of Lincs Inspire’s Inspiring Lives programme, in conjunction with the Adult Learning Disability Service, Care Plus Group.

The session, which runs from 9:30am to 2pm, offers a wide variety of inclusive activities for users to enjoy and the opportunity to try out a variety of sports such as Badminton, Boxing, Adapted Cycles, Trampolining and more. The session costs £5 per person with free entry for carers.

The Inclusive Sports Taster Day is open to anyone with a disability whether they are a wheelchair user or not, and their family, friends and carers regardless of age or ability.

The Inclusive Sports Open Day provides an opportunity for users to engage in a variety of sports and activities which will hopefully open new avenues into long term participation within sport and physical activity. The day brings together a variety of different organisations and coaches to deliver various activities including adapted cycles, trampolining, boxing and more.

The Inspiring Lives project brings together Lincs Inspire’s sports and leisure services making them inclusive for all and helps those with any form of disability or impairment to more easily participate in sport and fitness safely.

Working closely in partnership with the Adult Learning Disability Service from the Care Plus Group   and the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, Lincs Inspire deliver a number of weekly activities across their centres for people with disabilities and the activities are proving extremely popular with all involved.
