Coffee, Poetry and Jazz Pop-ups in Lincs Inspire Libraries
Local poets will be popping up in Lincs Inspire Libraries as part of National Poetry Day on Thursday, September 28.
Live readings are taking place by:
- Maria Garner in Waltham Library;
- Rob Etty in Cleethorpes Library;
- Caroline Burton in Immingham Library; and
- Josie Moon in Grimsby Central Library. Josie is being joined by Pat McCarthy, jazz musician
All readings take place from 1pm to 3pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy these free public performances.
Lincs Inspire Libraries are also pleased to support MacMillan Coffee Morning on Friday, September 29. Between 10am and 12 noon, customers are welcome to enjoy coffee and cakes at Cleethorpes Library’s Albert Room (formerly the meeting Room) with all proceeds going to MacMillan Cancer –providers of specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.
David Power, Principal Arts Officer for Lincs Inspire Limited, said: “We are delighted to have local poets reading in our libraries on National Poetry Day. There are some excellent poets in the area and this is a chance to hear them read their own work live.
“We are also extremely pleased to be contributing to the MacMillan Coffee Morning. The work MacMillan does is excellent and very important so I hope as many people as possible come along to enjoy a coffee and support this charity.”
