Celebrate reading together!

Issued: Friday, June 2

AS part of Make a Noise in Libraries Fortnight (5 to 17 June) Lincs Inspire Libraries are inviting people with sight loss to attend their Listening Book Group at Grimsby Library.

The national awareness campaign encourages people who are blind or visually impaired to join in reading activities at local libraries.

The free, monthly sessions take place on the last Wednesday of every month from 2pm to 3pm and are for visually impaired people who like talking about books, enjoy a friendly chat but who have difficulties with standard print.

Members of the group read a book each month and then discuss it at their next meeting. They share favourite authors and cover a wide range of fiction. The latest book that was read and reviewed was the last in the Clifton Chronicles series by Jeffrey Archer.

The next meeting of the Listening Book Group takes place on Wednesday, June 28 when The Sunrise by Victoria Hislop will be discussed. Books are supplied on MP3 CD and new members are always welcome.
