Cycle Skills Sessions This Summer
Issued: Thursday, July 20
WHETHER your child is just starting out or you would like them to be able to ride their bike more safely – there is a cycle skills session for your child this summer with Lincs Inspire.
Lincs Inspire’s Sports Development team will be delivering a Cycle Confidence session at Bradley Football Development Centre on Thursday 27th July from 9:30am to 12 noon. The session is suitable for all current Year 4 pupils who will be undertaking Bikeability in Year 5 from September 2017 and costs £5 per person.
There will also be Bikeability sessions every Thursday throughout August from 10am to 3pm. Youngsters will work in small groups with our trained instructors on this one day course for Level 1 and 2 Bikeability. Level 1 will be delivered off-road and Level 2 will be on-the-road training. The cost of each session is £15 per person. Sessions take place at Bradley Football Development Centre on the 10th, 24th and 31st August. The venue is still to be confirmed for the sessions on the 3rd and 17th August.
We are also hosting one-to-one Learn to Ride sessions where our Instructors will aim to teach children to ride a bike. The sessions are suitable for Year 3s and above and cost £8 a session. Sessions will be held on Monday 7th August and Monday 21st August with one hour slots available to book.
Loan bikes are available at £5, additional cost per session as well as helmets at a £2 loan cost.
Lincs Inspire’s bikeability coaches were recently rated 4.5 out of 5 on the Bikeability programme’s risk rating. The programme sets out what good practice was observed, as well as the areas for improvement for the scheme. The report provides one overall ‘risk rating’ for the scheme taking account of all aspects of the scheme’s operations as observed during the visit, with 1 being high and 5 being low.
To book a place please contact Sports Development on (01472) 323349 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Consent forms are required for these activities and must be brought with you at the start of the session.
