Charity Group Cycling Event
Issued: Friday 21 April 2017
Do you enjoy a challenge? Do you think you can complete up to five group cycling classes in a row? If so, we may have the challenge for you!
Cleethorpes Leisure Centre is gearing up to host a mammoth five hour charity group cycling event on Saturday 29th April from 9am to 2pm in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Meningitis Research Foundation.
Five members of the Lincs Inspire fitness team, consisting of Wayne Sanderson, Daryl O’Brien, Kieran Hough, Hayley Mountain and Clare Clark, will put themselves, and those taking part, through their paces and aim to complete five full group cycling classes consecutively, totalling five hours!
Wayne Sanderson, Lincs Inspire Fitness Manager, said: “Our goal is to complete five full group cycling classes back to back with only a five minute break between each class.”
Although the members of the Lincs Inspire fitness team will complete the full five hours, those taking part can sign-up to do one or more hours, or the full five. Wayne explained: “You can sign-up and do the full five hours, or you can do individual hours. There are twenty five bikes for people who want to do the full five hours and twenty five bikes for people who want to do individual hours.”
If you fancy challenging yourself and taking part each class will cost £5 per hour or £20 for the full five hours payable on the day. All proceeds will be divided equally amongst the charities.
All of the instructors taking part are pumped up and raring to go, Wayne explained: “The instructors will be doing every single second, of every single minute of every hour of the event.”
Kieran Hough, a Lincs Inspire Fitness Instructor, would suggest that those taking part train as much as they can prior to the event, he explained: “Get to as many classes as possible, train as much as you can. It’s going to be as inclusive as it possibly can be, but it’s still going to be a challenge!”
When asked what people can expect on the day, Wayne said: “They can expect five high energy, high tempo, very different classes.”
Sue Wells, Lincs Inspire Chief Executive, said: “At Lincs Inspire we’re all about inspiring people to be more active, more often and events such as this, and our FIT TO PARTY charity events, are a fun way of working out with friends and raising money for a worthwhile cause.”
Free refreshments will be provided and there will be spot prizes on the day. Places are strictly limited. To book your place call Cleethorpes Leisure Centre on (01472) 323200.
If group cycling isn’t your thing, Lincs Inspire will be holding its second FIT TO PARTY night at Grimsby Auditorium on Tuesday 6th June 2017. More information on the event will be released in due course.
