Local History Collection Merchandise

Issued: Wednesday 16 November 2016

Lincs Inspire libraries are launching a range of unique merchandise using images from the libraries Local History collection. The collection provides the perfect opportunity to give something different for Christmas.

The images have been chosen to reflect the rich local history of the area and features representations of two of the most iconic structures in Grimsby and Cleethorpes – the Dock Tower and Cleethorpes Pier. The Winter Gardens (formerly known as Olympia), Victoria Street, the Old Market Place and Empire Theatre also feature.

Jennie Cartwright, Development Officer for Lincs Inspire Libraries, said: “The items on sale have scenes of the local area and will make unique presents for people with local connections.  Our last range of merchandise which was produced to coincide with Armed Forces Day proved very popular – one ex-Grimbarian who now lives in America bought mugs and tea towels to take back to the States with him as a great reminder of home.

“We are hoping that this new range of merchandise will give people the chance to buy something just a little bit different for Christmas and will appeal to visitors to the area as well as our own local community.”

The range of merchandise, which consists of art prints, tote bags, mugs and tea towels, is on sale now and available from Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Immingham and Waltham Libraries. There is limited stock available, so hurry while stocks last! For more information contact Cleethorpes Library on (01472) 323650 or email jennie.cartwright@lincsinspire.com.
