Our re-opening plans once we are given the green light from Government

These are subject to change in line with any emerging Government and industry guidelines.


Opening Hours: As normal, depending on activity – see below for details.

Admissions policy: Children under the age of 16 must always be accompanied by an adult and only attend family sessions. Some sessions will be designated for adults only.

We plan to offer an exclusive opportunity for members to book a time slot and look at the changes we have made in advance of restarting their fitness regime. Please check back for confirmation of dates

  • On entry, where possible, use automated doors to avoid touch points

  • In the foyer/entrance please use hand sanitiser station provided

  • Reception will be marked out for 2-metre stay safe distancing and reception desks will include safety screens

  • Please bring your membership card to gain entry to your activity

  • There will only be one member of staff serving at any one time at reception to ensure a safe workspace, please be patient

  • Payments - please use cashless/contactless payments where possible

  • First Aiders will be available throughout opening times, masks/safety measures are in place to protect staff and customers

  • An enhanced cleaning regime will be in place

  • Initial opening – a booking system will be in place for members using the gym sessions and exercise classes

  • Casual/pay as you go users are welcome, however booking is required 

  • Memberships - new members are welcome, however joining is only available online initially

  • Public toilets are open. Please respect social distancing, with a one person at a time entry/two persons if from the same household

  • Children under the age of 16 must always be accompanied by an adult and only attend family sessions (as some sessions will be designated for adults only)

  • Vending machines will be operational, however beverages and confectionary from the machines cannot be consumed within the building. Customers can purchase bottled water/energy drinks to support hydration during working out. However, you are encouraged to bring you own pre-filled drinks bottle

  • Gym layout is based on customers having safe space to use equipment

  • All gym sessions will need to be pre-booked

  • Customers will also need to bring their own water bottles as dispensers will not be available and customers are asked to be mindful of bringing any personal items into the gym space as they may present a health risk/hazard to others

  • No personal towels will be allowed, please use disposal paper towels provided

  • Gym/Fitness changing rooms will be open to access lockers only, customers are encouraged to come workout ready. Safe access will limit changing rooms to one person at a time/or two persons if from the same household

  • Gym equipment will be spread out across both the gym space and into the sports hall, creating plenty of safe distancing

  • Customers can access both the existing gym and the extended gym within the sports hall

  • Customers will be required to wipe down all equipment touch points before and after use - anti-bacterial cleaning products will be available throughout the gym

  • Weights room - this space will be limited to a maximum of 5 users at any session. Users must wipe down all pieces of equipment before and after use. This space will also be closed on the hour to enable staff to wipe down all touch points

  • All classes will need to be pre-booked

  • The sports hall will be used for group exercise classes (including spin classes). This enables customers to have a safe 3 metre circular space around them, creating plenty of safe distancing

  • Class capacity will be limited to 20 people maximum, using half the sports hall. This enables us to separate the sports hall with the other half providing an extended gym space and to give those attending classes a safe 3 metre circular distance apart

  • A temporary timetable will be published as soon as possible and initially will not include classes where equipment is necessary, such as circuits, step and BodyPump

  • All pools will be unable to provide group fitness classes, however this is under review and may be possible with social distancing in pools

  • Customers will also need to bring their own water bottles as dispensers will not be available and customers are asked to be mindful of bringing any personal items into the group exercise space as they may present a health risk/hazard to others.   • It is expected that the pool will re-open for public swimming shortly after the gym re-opens and classes resume

  • All sessions need to be pre-booked. Temporary timetable tbc

  • We will be providing adult only and family sessions. Initially we will not allow children under the age of 16 into our facilities unless they are accompanied by a parent/guardian and attending a specific family session. Parents are required to ensure children always maintain safe distancing

  • Pool capacity is based on Swim England/Government advice and swimmers having a 6-metre circular distance around them - therefore the pool will have a much-reduced capacity

  • We will operate a staggered pool admission system and adopt the same approach for swimmers exiting the pool. This will minimise the risk at possible congestion points

  • Our commitment to cleanliness - 60-minute pool and changing room access gaps will be programmed throughout each day at regular intervals. This is to enable staff to safely clean touch points within changing rooms and access points/ including disability hoists

  • Swimming Pool changing rooms will always be staffed and customers will be supported to move safely around this area, customer numbers will be limited, and some changing cubicles may be closed off to ensure social distancing  

  • Group changing rooms will remain closed

  • Disability changing facilities will operate as normal (one-person access only unless accompanied by a carer/family member)

  • Customers are required to leave lockers and cubicles clean and tidy

Due to the nature and size of these facilities, our saunas, steam rooms and health suites will initially be unavailable.
Pending additional review and the release of further industry guidance, we will re-introduce this aspect of our service as soon as we are able to do so.

This space will remain closed initially and reopen when it is safe for children to independently participate in gym-based activities.

  • Public swimming will resume shortly after re-opening

  • The sports hall will not be available for team sports/competitive sports

  • The sports halls and squash courts will not be available for racket sports such as squash/badminton/table tennis

  • All pools will be unable to provide swim lessons and 1 to 1 private lessons initially, we will review this and launch lessons at a later date

  • All pools will be unable to provide group fitness classes in pools, however this is under review and may be possible with social distancing in pools

  • Children’s Roller Sessions - as there is an increased risk of contact it is not possible for these to recommence currently

  • Parties – we will revisit this at a later date
