Poetry Thursdays

A series of Poetry nights funded by Arts Council England run in partnership with Josie Moon of the La Luna Poetry Publishing Company; featuring local, regional and national artists. Winner of the Newdigate Prize and an Eric Gregory Award, Anthony Dunn has published four collections of poems; Pilots and Navigators, Flying Fish, Bugs, and most recently, Take This One to Bed. He is an engaging and thoughtful performer, and has previously worked with young people locally to develop their poetic craft.

Patience Agbabi's poetry has been featured on radio and TV worldwide, and she has spent over 20 years celebrating the written and spoken word. Patience is the author of four books, with her latest, 'Telling Tales' (Canongate, 2014) retelling Chaucer's 'The Canterbury Tales' with vivid style and imagination. It was shortlisted for the Ted Hughes Prize for New Work in Poetry 2014 and Wales Book of the Year 2015. We can't wait!

Open Mic Events 

Local writers, poets and book lovers will have the chance to give readings of their own work and from their favourite literature at Lincs Inspire’s Open Mic - Spoken Word events.

Lincs Inspire Libraries and Arts Development services have joined forces to bring these events and writing workshops to local people. With funding from Libraries Connected the project is supporting local people to develop their writing, share it with likeminded people and bring exciting new events to our libraries.
