COVID Swimming Information

The pools at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, Grimsby Leisure Centre and Immingham will reopen on Monday 12th April.

We have worked to ensure our pools are safe for customers and staff. We ask that customers read and follow all the guidance on this page.

Timetables - please view the pool timetables here.

All swimming sessions must be pre-booked online or via our App.

Please note! This is a new way to book, which allows you to:

  • Book and pay for your family group in one transaction;
  • Book under threes online without having to call in advance; and
  • Book using only your email address if you do not have a Lincs Inspire card.

Further guidance and troubleshooting advice.

Grimsby Leisure Centre
Please note that swimmers must swim only in the pool they have booked and not move between pools. I.e. Main Pool and Leaner Pool.

Children under the age of 12 are required to be accompanied by a parent/guardian and attend a specific family session. Our adult to child ratio is one adult to two children, under the age of 12.

We encourage swimmers to come ready for their swim. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your session to avoid being asked to wait outside.

All sessions are restricted to 50 minutes and you are able to book up to two sessions a day in the pool. If you are booking concurrent sessions, please ensure you are issued with two bands from reception and are marked as attending both sessions.

Swimmers are asked to wait either by the vending machines or outside due to the restricted space indoors.

We encourage all customers, over the age of 16, to scan the NHS COVID-19 QR code upon arrival. You will need to download the NHS COVID-19 App. This is the Government's official contact tracing App. Search for "NHS Covid-19" in the Google Play or App Store.

We operate a staggered pool admission system and adopt the same approach for swimmers exiting the pool. This minimises the risk at possible congestion points.

Unfortunately there is no spectating at sites, unless for parents or guardians of children aged over 8 when swim lessons resume.

Pool changing rooms are always staffed and customers are supported to move safely around the areas. Customer numbers are limited, and some changing cubicles and lockers are closed off to ensure social distancing.

Our commitment to cleanliness - 60-minute pool and changing room access gaps are programmed throughout each week at regular intervals. This is to enable staff to safely clean touch points within changing rooms and access points/ including disability hoists.

Showering following swimming is rinse only, and the use of showering products is currently not permitted. We are asking customers, if possible, to shower at home after their swim.

Group changing rooms remain closed.

Disability changing facilities are operating as normal (one-person access only unless accompanied by a carer/family member).

Customers are required to leave lockers and cubicles clean and tidy.

Pool capacity is based on Swim England/Government advice and swimmers having a 6-metre circular distance around them - therefore the pool has a much-reduced capacity.

There is an onus on customers to work with us to ensure that we can operate safely, by respecting the social distancing rules. Parents and guardians are asked to closely monitor their children.

Lanes are in place, however the remainder of the pool will also still be available for use.
