Our members were all at different points in their fitness journeys when they first started, but look at them now!
Bethan initially felt self-conscious about exercising at a slower pace, but quickly realised she wasn’t alone and now feels confident both in and outside the gym. Lynn took the leap and joined our classes for the first time after experiencing major life changes, and she’s never looked back. John started to lose weight by joining the gym and even managed to reverse a pre-diabetic diagnosis!

Bethan, 27
“The instructors actually change things on the spot for me if I’m unable to do something and I still feel the same benefits as everybody else”
Bethan tried other gyms before discovering Lincs Inspire but never felt truly at home. As a plus-sized member, she often sensed a negative perception of her abilities or felt judged, as though she wasn’t pushing as hard as others. At Lincs Inspire, however, the welcoming mix of different sizes, ages, and fitness levels has helped her feel comfortable and confident, both in the gym and in her daily life. Now, Bethan shares this positive, inclusive mindset with others, inspiring them to reach their own goals.

Lizzie & Joeyl, 30
“It’s our date night!”
Couples that train together, stay together! Lizzie and Joeyl love working out side by side at Lincs Inspire, from weight training and spinning to cardio sessions. They say that regular gym time together has boosted their confidence, and they’d take a “date with weights” over anything else! Their motivation? Each other.

Janine, 52
“I can feel the changes going on within my body and it was telling me that I needed more from a workout”
When Janine noticed her body wasn’t responding to her usual classes, despite her passion for them, she knew it was time to add strength training to her routine. She joined a resistance workshop at Lincs Inspire and never looked back. Soon, she began to feel and see the positive changes. Strength training was transforming both how she looked and how she felt.

Lynn, 72
“I was so nervous, and I didn’t know a soul but I’m so glad I [joined Lincs Inspire]. It really changed my life!”
After Lynn lost her husband and retired from her job of 30 years, she decided it was time to try something new. Though she’d known about Lincs Inspire, she hadn’t tried the classes before. This was her first step! Getting out, meeting people, and trying new things boosted Lynn’s confidence, and now she genuinely looks forward to each visit. She’s made lifelong friends, gained new structure in her life, and found something meaningful to wake up for. Lynn believes age is just a number and encourages anyone considering the leap to go for it!

John, 73
“If I don’t do something now at 73, I won’t be seeing the great grandchildren”
At his highest weight of 14 stone and facing a pre-diabetic diagnosis, John took his first step toward a complete lifestyle change with power-assisted exercise at Lincs Inspire. Combining exercise with healthy eating, he’s not only lost weight but also made friends, has fun every visit, and is motivated to keep pushing himself. Thrilled to have donated his old clothes to charity, John’s never looking back. He credits the fantastic staff for supporting him every step of the way.

Emily, 22
“It’s given me a new lease of life.”
After a serious car accident left her unable to walk and with brain damage, Emily knew she had to rebuild her strength and focus on her health. As part of her recovery, she committed to the gym, swimming, and fitness classes to regain her independence. Each session has helped her manage pain, strengthen her body, and transition back to work. Emily is determined to test her limits, transforming frustration into resilience and finding confidence she never imagined. She’s incredibly grateful for the supportive staff who motivate her along the way, proving just how capable she truly is.

Neil, 51
“Lincs Inspire is the place for me”
Neil’s disability brought him to Lincs Inspire. Living with cerebral palsy, he faces challenges with balance, walking, and falling, but coming to the gym helps stretch and relax his muscles. Regular visits to the gym and swimming have made everyday movement easier, especially when it comes to looking after his children. Although Neil is not currently working, coming to the gym and connecting with other members truly improves his day. He also brings his son along, becoming a role model for future fitness goals and inspiring his son to pursue his own fitness journey.

Fay, 64
“It’s become a way of life for me, but I wouldn’t want to change it”
Though Fay acknowledges that aging makes her more prone to injury, she firmly believes that regular exercise helps her stay supple and recover more easily. Making the most of Lincs Inspire’s multiple sites, Fay fits exercise into her routine by attending a variety of classes at convenient times. She also enjoys the welcoming atmosphere and loves being part of such a supportive environment. Fay often works out with her daughter, enjoys the swim facilities, and unwinds in the sauna and steam room. Exercise has not only helped Fay feel good physically but also boosted her mood and overall wellbeing.

Keyvan, 32
“It calms my mind”
Originally, Keyvan’s main goal was to lose weight, but over time, he began to experience the satisfaction of improving his self-esteem. It wasn’t just about changing his body shape, it made a huge difference to his mental health as well. The better he felt about his body, the more confident he became. Enjoying the fitness journey has been incredibly rewarding, and the results, both physical and mental, have followed naturally.
